THE ASSOCIATION
StructureThe structure and management of the Association are regulated by the Statute.The Association of Landscape Architects is organised by the principle of a national organisation in Serbia. SALA Members, depending on the demands or by their professional affinities, upon the agreement by the SALA Managing Board, can form municipal, regional or other societies with a status of a legal body. The Association of Landscape Architects is managed by its members through the elected representatives in the SALA organs and bodies. History1960In Serbia, the Department for Town Landscaping was established at the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade in 1960. Later on its title changed into the Department of Horticulture, then Department of Landscape Architecture, and from 2002 its name is Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture. About 1100 engineers graduated at this Department from 1964 till 2003. During the period of the former SFR Yugoslavia, Landscape Architecture Schools were formed also in Ljubljana ("Krajinska" Architecture at the Biotechnical Faculty) and in Zagreb (Gardening and Landscaping, i.e. later on Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Agronomy). During that period, there was a constant demand to establish a professional organisation for landscape architecture. GoalThe main goal of ALA is affirmation, promotion and protection of landscape architecture as a profession in Serbia. Therefore the tasks of ALA are: |
